Tina & Jean
A Love Letter to Another Century
Tina & Jean’s wedding at Château de Varennes felt like stepping into a bygone love story — tender, textured, and layered with the quiet magic of history. With hearts rooted in storytelling and heritages from Belgium and the South of France, the couple shared an obsession with vintage films, hand-typed letters, and family relics. This wasn’t a themed wedding. It was a time-traveled experience — curated to the scent of old paper and the glow of candlewax.
Living Memory in Every Detail
The château, with its faded shutters and sun-washed stucco, offered the perfect canvas. Lune & Linen transformed each room into a living still life. Guests arrived to the sound of gramophone music and were handed linen-wrapped programs stamped with antique French coins.
Tina’s suite felt like a Jane Austen heroine had just departed: ivory lace gloves draped on velvet, handwritten letters beside a basin of perfumed water, and a porcelain dish of forget-me-nots. Her gown — vintage French lace, restored and reimagined by a Lyon seamstress — featured billowing sleeves, a high neck, and mother-of-pearl buttons down the back. Her shoes belonged to her grandmother. Her fragrance? A custom blend of neroli, bergamot, and orris root.
A Ceremony Stitched from Stories
Jean dressed in the château’s library, surrounded by brothers and old postcards from a flea market. His deep olive wool suit, paisley pocket square, and gold watch chain spoke volumes. His boutonnière by Wild Reverie Floral was a sprig of lavender wrapped in torn muslin ribbon.
The ceremony unfolded in the orchard, where chairs stood in charming disarray among the trees. The altar was an antique French doorway, draped in heirloom roses and hops. Vows were printed on aged parchment by Paper Arcadia, sealed with their initials.
As Tina entered through the vineyard, her train floating like a letter on the breeze, a local string trio played Chopin and Piaf. Jean cupped her cheek as though he’d done so in another lifetime. They spoke their vows slowly — in English and French — their hands never separating.
Champagne, Calligraphy, and Candlelight
Cocktail hour brought vintage champagne, lavender lemonade, and petit fours served on antique china. A calligrapher painted guest portraits in ink on old book pages while Clementine & Co. captured the day in 35mm: flickering windows, melting candles, the soft crease of Tina’s smile.
Dinner was long and illuminated by candlelight in the courtyard. Tables were dressed in faded damask linens, with gold-foiled menus by Paper Arcadia. Guests dined on duck confit, chanterelle tarts, and honey-glazed pears, paired with wine from the château’s own cellar. Toasts were unscripted — heartfelt, nostalgic, full of teary eyes and laughter.
A Dance That Waited Centuries
Their first dance was to “La Mer”, played on a vintage gramophone beneath a lace canopy and hanging willow. There was no spotlight, just shared rhythm and quiet awe — a dance that felt like it had been waiting centuries to unfold.
As evening gave way to night, guests gathered in the drawing room for cigars, liqueurs, and jazz, swapping stories as the candles burned low. At midnight, Tina and Jean passed out vintage postcards, each inscribed with a personal message — not a goodbye, but a whispered keepsake.
A Moment Made Into Memory
With the poetic styling of Lune & Linen, the quiet brilliance of Clementine & Co., the craftsmanship of Paper Arcadia, and the wild touch of Wild Reverie Floral, Tina & Jean’s wedding didn’t just take place in a beautiful moment — it became one.
